SCAGE

Structural analysis of reinforced concrete retaining walls

Pile and diaphragm wall screens

Scage is a calculation software package that enables the internal stability of piles and diaphragm walls to be assessed in accordance with Eurocode 2 (French and Belgian national annexes) and the French national standards implementing Eurocode 7 (NF P 94-262 and NF P 94-282).

Key strengths

Structural analysis of piles

  • Importing internal force diagrams from Foxta, K-Réa or Excel.
  • Analysis of stresses in 3 directions (X, Y, Z)
  • Integrated reinforced concrete calculation for simple, composite or deviated bending
  • Accounts for the offset in the bending moment diagram
  • Calculation of minimum regulatory steel cross-sections
  • Option to define reinforcement cage elements comprising longitudinal bars and transverse zones
  • Construction of the cage elevation as it is defined
  • Calculation of the cage weight (element by element)
  • Accounting for the load-bearing width of each bar
  • Calculation of the utilisation ratio of the bending and shear resistance for each level of the pile
  • Access to interaction diagrams at each level of the pile
  • Calculation of concrete compressive stress, steel stress and crack opening at each level of the pile (ELS)
  • Generation of a list of arranged bars

Modules

Two types of study

  • Detailed verification module: enables the verification of a reinforcement cage for a set of internal force diagrams derived from a foundation or retaining structure equilibrium calculation (import of loads from Foxta, K-Réa or Excel). The calculation is performed phase by phase (ELU and ELS) for simple, composite or deviated bending.
  • Simplified preliminary design module: this allows the diameter and required reinforcement ratio of piles to be determined for resisting one or more torsional forces, for an infinite number of piles. It also allows the maximum in-depth forces to be estimated based on the forces applied at the pile head for each combination/situation considered.
