COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS – KNOWLEDGE SHARING – GEOTECHNICAL STANDARDS

Our engineers and experts play an active role in the work of professional associations dedicated to geotechnical engineering. Their involvement in think tanks and working groups demonstrates a strong commitment, contributing to the development of best practice, innovation and excellence in our field.

CFMS (French Committee on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnics)

  • F. CUIRA was elected Chair of the Scientific and Technical Committee for the period 2020–2022, and is now an elected member of the Board. 
  • M. CAHN and A. LOPES are elected members of the Scientific and Technical Committee. 
  • H. LE BISSONNAIS was Vice-Chair of the Technical Committee from 2014 to 2016. 
  • A member since the 1970s, A. GUILLOUX served notably as Chair of the CFMS from 2006 to 2010.

CFMR (French Committee on Rock Mechanics)

  • Terrasol is represented on the CFMR by J. DRIVET (corporate member). 
  • Individual member: A. BEAUSSIER. 
AFTES (French Association for Underground Works)

  • A. GUILLOUX took part in the working groups on shotcrete and bolting. 
  • H. LE BISSONNAIS is a member of: 
    • Working Group No. 30: “Design of bolting in tunnels” since 2003 
    • Working Group No. 32: “Geological uncertainties and risks” since 2009 
    • Working Group No. 43: “Guidance on the application of standard NF P 94-500 relating to geotechnical engineering tasks to underground structures” 
  • B. MADINIER is a member of: 
    • Working Group No. 24: “Geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations required for the design of underground structures” since 2015

AFPS (French Association for Earthquake Engineering)

  •  J. PEREZ is an elected member of the Scientific and Technical Committee and is also Treasurer of the AFPS. 
  • F. CUIRA, F. ROPERS and J. PEREZ HERREROS are participating in the working group tasked with drafting the AFPS 2020 recommendations. 
CFBR (French Committee on Dams and Reservoirs)

  • Terrasol is represented on the CFBR by A. BERGERE. 
FSTT (French Committee for Trenchless Technology)

  • Terrasol is a corporate member of the FSTT. 
USG (Geotechnical Trade Union)

  • J. DRIVET has represented Terrasol within the USG since 2015. 
ISSMGE (International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering)

  • Terrasol is a ‘Corporate Associate’ of the ISSMGE. 
IREX

  • Terrasol is represented at IREX by F. CUIRA 
PN ARSCOP

  • Terrasol is represented in the ARSCOP national project (PN) by F. CUIRA. J. HABERT is responsible for Workstream 3 – Dissemination.

  • J. PEREZ HERREROS is a member of the RCC-CV subcommittee. 
Standardisation
  • Terrasol participates in various working groups on standardisation. All of these activities are led or supervised by S. BURLON, F. CUIRA and J. HABERT: 
    • Work of the CNJOG 
    • Steering the working group dedicated to the revision of the Nailing standard 
    • EC7 Project Teams 
    • EC8 Project Teams 
    • Work of the CNREG and ISO/TC182 on geotechnical testing: J. HABERT is the lead for ISO/TC182/WG8 (in-situ expansion tests) and WG11 (load tests)
