The year 2025 will be remembered as the year in which excavation work on the major Canamarne project, which began in 2021, was completed.
This work, led by Groupe ADP, involved the installation of a rainwater conveyance pipeline over a total distance of 9.4 km, discharging into the Marne. Once operational, it will improve the management of rainwater collected at Roissy Airport (protecting the Renardières basin from the risk of flooding and increasing the drainage capacity compared to current levels).
A project for which Terrasol (Setec Group) is proud to have supported Setec Hydratec and Cabinet Merlin as part of the integrated project management team for the design-build consortium led by companies from the NGE – BTP Group: SADE (lead contractor) and EHTP.
The works comprise 6 km of open-cut trenching and 3 km of trenchless works using microtunnelling, which required no less than:
– 11 microtunnelling runs using AVN 1000 to 1800 machines;
– 21 working shafts between 5 and 25 metres deep, constructed using various techniques (traditional lined shafts, secant piles, sheet piling, diaphragm walls);
– Foundations for structures using high-pressure metal anchors at the base of the cofferdam;
– A discharge structure into the Marne.
This project is one of the largest pipework installation contracts in the country. It presented us with a significant challenge given the diversity of the structures and the difficulties encountered in a particularly challenging hydraulic environment, with the groundwater tables of the Marne and its tributaries and record rainfall in 2024!
Our technical expertise thus enabled us to
:– Oversee a programme of additional surveys and produce the geological and geotechnical report (G2 PRO);
– Contribute to the project design by defining the construction techniques for the various sections of the pipeline and temporary structures (G2 PRO);
– Approval of the construction documents (G4);
– Monitoring of the works and active participation in discussions regarding unforeseen issues arising during construction (G4).
Many thanks to Groupe ADP for their trust over the years.
