The nuclear sector is booming, and Terrasol is supporting this growth whilst strengthening its expertise with key players in the field such as EDF, Edvance, CEA, Orano and Framatome.
Two projects are currently keeping our Paris and Lyon teams particularly busy, under the leadership of Jesús Pérez Herreros and Fahd Cuira:
In Gravelines: we are contributing to the feasibility studies for the foundations of the future EPR2 reactor, a major challenge due to the presence of thick layers of soft soil. The aim? To design a ground reinforcement system that will limit settlement and ensure the stability of the structure, even in the event of an earthquake.
In Penly: we are involved in the detailed civil engineering studies for the nuclear island, alongside the ENSPIR3 consortium, of which setec is a member. In particular, our teams are analysing the static and dynamic behaviour of the structure, drawing on our experience from the EPR UK projects (Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C).
